Personally, I wouldn't get a new HD camera with progressive just yet; Panasonic is releasing what looks like to be a killer HD camera, the HVX-200. It'll be priced around 6,000 dollars without the p2 cards (their solid state record medium), and around 9,000 for 2 p2 cards (forget the size, 8 gb I think). It's scheduled to be released the last quarter of this year since it's still in development.

I've heard bad things about the progressive modes on the Sony prosumer cameras, so I don't know if you're really missing a whole lot.... *shrug*

Z1 has progressive mode only in SD. So you get to choose from cineframe25(PAL) and cineframe24 or 30(NTSC). It sucks :) If you want to shoot progressive SD get the Panasonic DVX-100A

It probably thought that you were trying to hack the blog by leaving unclosed tags in there.... you'll have to use < in future...

no... I just copied the link... but when I tried to make an arrow like this <- I've used the direct symbol and it obviously thought it was code and it stripped it. (I kinda like using arrows pointing at text ;))

Yeah - I've read stuff about the JVC one - would love to get my hands on one!

The Z1E belongs to the production company, so that's what we're using...

Anyway, I'm just putting together a post on how it all went yesterday - should appear soon...
